Projects

An important feature of Field Service is Managing Projects via a well defined and streamlined process.

The steps involved in managing projects often include planning, execution, and monitoring, with the goal of achieving on-time and within-budget completion of projects. The projects themselves range from simple maintenance to complex multi-step installations or repairs. Mobileforce Project Management includes features such as resource planning, task scheduling, time tracking, monitoring, reporting and more.

The Hierarchy of related objects in Project Management include (from top level to lower level)

A project consists of (optionally) one or more work orders. Similarly a work order consists of one or more service tasks. If a customer doesn't wish to use Work Orders, they can then directly map Projects to the Service Tasks that comprise the project.

* Projects

This table provides the top level Project functionality. Projects can be "active" or "closed". Once closed, no further modifications can be made in Projects.

Projects are associated with Milestones, Service Tasks, and Work Orders.

In addition, Projects can use a specific template, and a CRM Account.

Once a project is created, work orders can refer to the owning project as shown below:

Once a project is created, a milestone can be associated with it by using the "+" symbol to add a milestone.

Once this milestone is saved, the project now has an associated milestone:

Once a project is completely created with Work Orders and/or Service Tasks, and Milestones have been created for the project, next we can track the project progress using Trackers.
