Submitting a Proposal for Approval

Submitting a Proposal for Approval

Depending on the configuration rules for your company, you may need to have a proposal approved prior to sending it to the customer for final signature. Typically Mobileforce CPQ is configured so that users with a supervisor or management role are given approver privileges.

To submit the proposal for approval, click the Approvals tab from the Proposals/Quotes page.

Mobileforce CPQ indicates whether approval is required for the proposal on the Status field (highlighted in green in the above graphic).

If the proposal is complete and requires approval, click the Submit for Approval button. The status of the proposal is changed to Pending Approval. Mobileforce CPQ sends an email message to the configured approvers notifying them of the proposal.

When a quote is submitted for approval, the quote gets locked (pending approval). During this time (until the approver takes action) the seller cannot edit the quote (this is by design). However, an approver can still edit and modify quotes that are pending approval (and hence in a locked state).

Mobileforce CPQ sends an email to your email address when a proposal is either approved or declined.
