The Mobileforce CPQ application is designed around two primary user roles:
- Admins: Users with an Admin role work with Mobileforce to integrate the CPQ software with your organizations existing CRM. Additionally, they initially set up Price Books, Product Catalogs, and Products, as well as creating and adapting the Mobileforce Quote, Document, and Email templates to fit the needs of your organization.
- Sellers: Non-admin users are given the role of Sellers. These users create proposals using Mobileforce CPQ after the Admins complete configuration. Sellers can be given access to specific quote templates, product quoting capabilities, etc.
Note:
Within the Sellers group, Mobileforce CPQ supports the creation of Approver Groups that consist of users who can approve quotes based on the rules configured by the Admins. For example, requiring approval when specific discounts or specific products are included in a proposal.
At a finer granularity, Mobileforce CPQ enables purpose-driven capabilities and workflows for the following roles:
- Seller (the creator of quotes), typically the salesperson. Often also signs the quote on behalf of the selling organization.
- Customer (for Portal access to CPQ), typically the receiver of the quote, having the ability to sign off on the quote.
- Approver (for non-standard pricing or guardrails), enabling quotes that require special approvals (perhaps due to discounts or specific terms).
- SalesOps Business Analyst (for Lo/No code guardrails), creating various rules (product, pricing, configuration, and approval) that guard the creation of correct, fulfillable quotes.
- Finance, Ops (for pricing, currency, billing, invoicing, etc.), setting pricing and currency setup of products, with emphasis on start/end dates for special pricing.
- Legal, for terms and conditions, redlining.
- (IT) Admin, for setting up users, roles, SSO.
- Integration & Solutions Engr, for integration with CRM, ERP, and other enterprise systems of record.
- Developer for custom development of custom workflows and integration with custom (often homegrown) systems of record.
